Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Dry Eye Symptoms
A higher dietary intake of omega 3 fatty acids is linked to a lower incidence of dry eye symptoms in women, according to a study by Biljana Miljanovic et al, involving 32470 women between the ages of 45 and 84. Omega 3 fatty acid is an important component of OKrill.

Krill Oil is Clinically Proven to be Better than Fish Oil for Dry Eye Disease

The study by Laura A Deinema et al suggested that, after taking moderate daily dose of omega -3 EFAs for three months on 54 patients, the dry eye patients experienced decreased tear osmolarity and enhanced tear stability. The study suggests that Krill oil is proven to reduce tear osmolarity and increases tear film stability. It reduces inflammation and improve symptoms of dry eye. Krill oil, which has a high concentration of omega-3 EFAs, provided additional therapeutic benefits above fish oil, including reductions in tear levels and improvements in dry eye disease symptoms. Krill oil showed a greater therapeutic effect than fish oil, with a significant decrease in certain pro-inflammatory cytokines, compared with fish oil.

Astaxanthin and Eye Health
